Trick Photography and Special Effects – by Evan Sharboneau

001f2f39_mediumThis was a very fun book to read. It is writing by a young artist Evan Sharboneau. Matter of fact it make the book ridiculously easy to read. (for dummy)

It explain very well the basic like the shutter speed and aperture… all the basic. It is an amazing reference to do some creative photographs. The book is also well organize and the chapiter separation are clear making the research very easy. The is lots of great shot with the tutorial of course 🙂

Digital photography is a great opportunity to develop our creativity an other art. I find this book on the web and this was exactly the kind of book I was looking for. It is very easy to read, it probably couldn’t be more comprehensive actually for someone who just start with photoshop I don’t think I could find any better. It show me step-by-step how to open, create an album, rate and tag my picture and edit. The step by step is simply amazing. They point the referenced tool at every step and that is a beautiful things.

This is one of the book over my head at my desk. I will definitely do some research with the same author, collection to see if there is any other similar useful book.

If there is one things that I really need during this learning process was a well shown dictionary of photography.

I stopped my research on a book written by David Prakel; a well know writter in the photography environment but also a recommended by the OCA.

The book is great, it is not only a dictionary. There is tones of image to explain everythings.

I’m really glad I found it, It is an other great book close to me when I’m studying.

The Photographer’s eye – by Michael Freeman

I read this book for the first time while i was in The Art Of Photography.

It is the exact same material then TAOP but push a little bit further. There is also much more example and photographs. It is the perfect book if I need to go back to read the basic

Not to remove anything from my course material, but this book is so much better in term of quality of the prints.

Digital photography, Acquisition and Processing Techniques

This is a great book. The author has specialized the book over the histogram witch is perfect for me as this is what I really need to focus on.

The contents is about everything you need to know, a lots that I have learn with The Art Of Photography but I gave it an other approach with all the information concerning the histogram prior, during and after the shooting. There is also a small part relative to the workflow.

The only sad part about it is the last 20 pages … there is absolutely no image what so ever.

Digital Nature Photography and Adobe Photoshop – by Kevin Moss

I got this book while working on the second assignment of The Art Of Photography. I had choose the subject of flowers and plants so I thought it would be good to do a little bit of reading on that subject.

There is a good portion of the book that talk about macro and close up, witch for me was the most important at that time. The part that I really like is the detail in the choice of gear and preparation.

I believe that there is a little bit too much text, my english is not strong enough yet too keep my focus on a very large document like this one. But overall the image are great and very captivating.

The book is separate in two large sections. The second section is about Photoshop. It will be very useful in the futur with DPP.

(I make a copy on DPP to be reviewed)

D7000 – User Guide

Download-Photography-PDF-Nikon-D7000-Users-Guide-Front-CoverI originally own this manual in french but I quickly realize that it was more trouble to translate every term than simply read it in english so I download the PDF which I put in a binder.

This book is for obvious reason very useful and since then he never leave my sight.
